Why do birds fly, frogs hop, and ladybugs have spots? Which animals build nests in trees, dig holes in the ground, sleep in the forest or live in a pond? We will hone our skills with the magnifying glasses and binoculars as we find out the answers to these questions and more! Join us as we explore the fascinating lives of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects through stories, crafts, and other fun activities.

The great outdoors is great for kids! During this program, campers will work as a team to sample what Mother Nature has to offer as they immerse themselves in the natural world and engage in a variety of crafts, games, and activities. Play in the creek, build a fort, search for salamanders, explore the trails and ponds, cool off in the sprinkler, amongst other adventures

With the GCV&M Historic Village as the setting for adventure, campers dressed in period clothing are immersed in the lives and times of young people of the 19th-century. Campers discover the Pioneer Farm, sample Village life, or dive deeper into 19th century trades, skills, and traditions.

Budding naturalists and outdoor adventurers will love exploring more than 550 acres of environmental preserve. Campers gain valuable knowledge of the natural world through hands-on exploration of the Nature Center ponds, woodlands, and meadows. Play in the creek, catch your first fish, hike the trails, or learn how to build a campfire.

You can bet the farm your children will have fun at this camp! Spend a week learning and doing at the Early Settlement Farm. Help with animal care, collect eggs, tend crops, grind corn, and horse around! Plant the seed for a lifelong love of learning.

Notice is hereby given that the Genesee Country Village & Museum will be opening an academy for the instruction of young ladies at the Romulus Female Seminary in Mumford, NY. Instruction will be given in the art of sewing, dancing, penmanship, and tea etiquette. Find out what it was like to learn to be a 19th-century lady.

Looking for a chance to work for a week in one of the museum’s trades? This camp provides 15 – 18-year-olds a five-day introduction to one of our historic trades! Each day you will roll up your costumed sleeves as one instructor will guide you, and one other participant, through the fundamental steps of one of our historic trades. One of your finished objects will be entered into the Agricultural Fair Blue-Ribbon contest in October.

If you’re curious about how comic books or manga are made, or if you have a story that you want to tell, or even if you just enjoy drawing, then this camp is for you. Director and critically-acclaimed writer/artist Dave Chisholm will discuss the many topics related to this discipline including story structure, script writing, character design–and, of course, there will be LOTS of time dedicated to drawing comics! Students are expected to bring a sketchbook or tablet as well as favored drawing utensils. Please no liquid media (watercolors, acrylic paint, inkpots, etc.)

North Country Camps is a traditional sleepaway camp in New York’s Adirondack Mountains for children ages 8–15. The Warrior Factory Ninja Camp will include structured and unstructured activities that range from training techniques, open gym play, Ninja games (obstacle tag, N-I-N-J-A, Follow the Ninja, Warrior Wall Knockout), obstacle courses, and some Ninja-related activities (design a course, obstacle, t-shirt, etc.). The Warrior Factory Ninja Camp will be run by our engaging staff and camp spots will be limited to maintain a safe and fun staffing ratio!

This is a 5-day (day camp with overnight) session filled with fun outdoor activities.

We offer overnight camp sessions for campers coming out of 3rd-12th grade. Campers who choose a Residential Camp week will stay in cabins on our 245 acre campus on the shores of Sacandaga Lake.

Campers will put on a production of School of Rock: Young Actors Edition during this 3 week camp!

Roc City Sailing offers hands-on sailing classes for kids and teens ages 8 to 17. Our goal is to teach young sailors how to handle a boat safely and confidently while having fun and developing teamwork and respect for the water.

The program is offered for children 5 years and up, for the first time riders to the intermediate. Participants will learn all aspects of horse husbandry including grooming, tacking, riding lessons each day and feeding. A “horse” type craft will be worked on during the afternoon along with other fun activities involved with horses!

Campers learn how to prepare and perform a scene with other actors.
