Enter a magical world of larger-than-life jack-o’-lanterns at the Buffalo Zoo’s Enchanted Pumpkin Trail! Explore the Zoo in a whole new way this fall, featuring dozens of glowing pumpkin displays , access to Destination Dinosaur after dark hours, and more! Whether you are strolling through a magical fairy garden, exploring the jack-o’-lantern safari, or dancing among our skeleton mariachi band for Day of the Dead, there is something for everyone on our Enchanted Pumpkin Trail!

The Buffalo Zoo and M&T Bank are delighted to offer FREE admission to the community once again on select Third Thursdays! Important: Free tickets are required and must be reserved online prior to your visit. A limited number of tickets are available, with a maximum of 10 tickets per group.

Right next door to the Rush Fall Festival, Saturday, September 19, the New York Museum of Transportation and the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum will be offering a rare treat: ride a vintage trolley car and transfer to a real freight train for a rare and unique experience. The only place in the country with two rail museums connected by a ride! Trolleys depart throughout the day, and the fare is $15 per person, free to kids age 4 and under.

The Genesee Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motorized Fire Apparatus in America (SPAAMFAA) will have their restored firefighting equipment on display for visitors to enjoy Sunday September 20. Resplendent in bright red paint and polished metal work, these vintage vehicles will delight visitors and bring back memories of times past. Discover the difference between a “fire truck” and a “fire engine,” and find out why firemen wear red suspenders!

A great way for families to enjoy the colors of an upstate autumn is from the windows of a vintage electric trolley car at the New York Museum of Transportation in Rush, NY. Rides operate Sundays only, October 4, 11, 25 and are included free with admission to the museum. The 20-minute rides depart at 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30. The museum is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. No reservations needed.

Calling all little ghouls and goblins! It’s time for a fang-tastic evening at the Buffalo Zoo! Celebrate the spooky season with this family-friendly event that features: Trick-or-Treat trail around the Zoo for children ages 2-12, Live entertainment, Free rides, Visits from animal ambassadors, And so much more! Put on your best costume and get here early to show off to your animal friends during this after-hours event; animals are on exhibit until dusk. Destination Dinosaur and Enchanted Pumpkin Trail are included with this after-hours event ticket.
