Spotlight Theatre Arts
Spend your summer singing, acting and dancing with Spotlight Studios in Fairport! We offer camps for all ages, all ending in full productions on stage! Kindergarten through 4th graders and 4th-8th graders can perform in “Shrek the Musical Jr” or “Madagascar Jr”. 8-12th graders can perform in “Chicago (HS Version)”. Kindergarten through 12th graders will take on “The King and I” in a week-long camp. 6-12th graders tackle Shakespeare’s classic “Romeo and Juliet”, while 7-12th graders can camp out at Spotlight for 48 hours while writing and performing a brand new musical. A Magical Journey Thru Stages creates fun, high-quality youth theatre. Summer 2017 camps include: Shrek, Jr. for students entering grade 6 - 12, Magic Treehouse: Pirates Past Noon, Kids for students entering grade 1-5, Roald Dahl’s James & the Giant Peach, Jr. for kids entering grades 5 - 8, and Singin’ in the Rain, Jr. for students entering 6-10. Also offered are two afternoon theater mini-camps, for students entering grades 1-5 and grades 6-10. The mini-camps are designed to improve your musical theatre skills. Terry Fyke's Main Street Players, located at the P. Ken Dennis Theatre, at the Norman Howard School in Rochester is dedicated to nurturing the performing arts for all ages. Students learn to sing, dance and act through shared learning experiences; they gain confidence, learn to trust their abilities, and work as a team. Integrating the diversity of talent into an ensemble are cornerstones of the program.
