Campers will be introduced to costumes, sets, props, and more all while having fun onstage! Each camper is guaranteed a role in the show. OFC’s teen camps feature a range of students who are bound for Broadway, enjoy performing for fun, and are first timers. OFC welcomes all teens to continue or begin their theatre journey in our teen program. Typically, the teen productions tackle a full Broadway or off-Broadway-length show, not a reduced version, with a script and score designed for adults and professionals.

OFC’s teen intensive program (or Pre-Professional Program) is geared towards students considering a future career in the performing arts. This camp is an “intensive” where the show is auditioned, rehearsed, and performed in a short time period. Those auditioning and registering for Pre-Professional Teen programs should be prepared to commit themselves to a rigorous rehearsal procecess with the expectation of work being done at home and outside of the rehearsal room.
Explorations: Jazz & Improvisation Workshop

Join jazz educator Aaron Staebell – drummer for the cutting-edge band Bending and Breaking, and professor at Ithaca College – for this creative exploration into the world of jazz combos and improvisation. Students will be grouped in combos with students of similar age and experience, and participants will learn to hone their improvisation skills. The workshop will include performances by guest musicians, listening sessions and discussions of jazz styles.
Comics & Manga Workshop

If you’re curious about how comic books or manga are made, or if you have a story that you want to tell, or even if you just enjoy drawing, then this camp is for you. Director and critically-acclaimed writer/artist Dave Chisholm will discuss the many topics related to this discipline including story structure, script writing, character design–and, of course, there will be LOTS of time dedicated to drawing comics!

This workshop for guitarists (grades 6-9) explores solo and ensemble playing across styles like classical, blues, and rock, culminating in a participant recital. Through songwriting, guitar construction, and extended techniques, students will develop skills and deepen their musical understanding. Participants must complete a placement survey and bring their own classical acoustic guitar and footstool or support.

This Summer Session offers 5 weekly 45-minute classes for Early Childhood students, with placements in either the 9 a.m., 10 a.m., or 11 a.m. slot based on age group. A program designed for 8th and 9th graders to experience an outdoor camp setting. The Teen/LIT Program is designed for teens seeking a camp and team-building experience with their peers. It is a challenging and flexible program based on the interests and choices of the group. This program will use the overall camp to help develop the teen’s schedule of activities. The program will be designed to develop teens’ leadership skills using daily challenges. This one-week program focuses on teamwork fundamentals, including communication, trust, leadership, conflict management, and goal setting.
