Send your student on a week-long creative adventure with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis! During this summer camp, kids become the writers, composers, designers, directors, and stars of their own production. Opera Theatre staff and leading music educators will guide campers on their journey, which concludes with a premiere of their original show. Opera Explorers welcomes students entering grades 4-7.

When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.
Student Cabaret Night features a range of OFC students showing off their talents through solos, duets, and group numbers. There is no cost to participate, however there will be a cost for tickets for parents, friends, and family to attend the performance. Selections of what will be performed will be sent out right after auditions, with time to prep prior to rehearsals beginning. We are looking for students who are self-motivated and have performed in the past and are "bound for Broadway!"
Legally Blonde JR. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle's boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't mutually exclusive.

Eager-to-wed Prince Nicholas narrates the story of a classic fairy tale kingdom anxious for his royal nuptials. However, Queen Minerva insists upon testing any girl who wants to marry her son, and not one is able to gain her approval. King Reginald loses his patience, the trusty Court Jester searches for the right bride, and an even-tempered chamber maid comforts her childhood friend, the Prince.
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. With many fun roles like Gaston, Lefou, Cogworth, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts and Chip, this "tale as old as time" is filled with opportunities for all ages.
A brand new adaptation of J. M. Barrie's story about a boy who never grew up. Our script was written by a local teen who has had several productions performed at Spotlight. This camp will be it's world premiere!

The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
