With the GCV&M Historic Village as the setting for adventure, campers dressed in period clothing are immersed in the lives and times of young people of the 19th-century. Campers discover the Pioneer Farm, sample Village life, or dive deeper into 19th century trades, skills, and traditions.

Why do birds fly, frogs hop, and ladybugs have spots? Which animals build nests in trees, dig holes in the ground, sleep in the forest or live in a pond? We will hone our skills with the magnifying glasses and binoculars as we find out the answers to these questions and more! Join us as we explore the fascinating lives of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects through stories, crafts, and other fun activities.

The great outdoors is great for kids! During this program, campers will work as a team to sample what Mother Nature has to offer as they immerse themselves in the natural world and engage in a variety of crafts, games, and activities. Play in the creek, build a fort, search for salamanders, explore the trails and ponds, cool off in the sprinkler, amongst other adventures

Whether you are new to fishing or have been fishing for years, there is something for everyone in this class! Learn (or sharpen) your skills in identifying species of fish and aquatic insects, scouting for bait, baiting a hook, catching, preparing and cooking a fish over an open fire. Practice your skills while exploring fishing ponds and the Oatka Creek located on the Museum land that is open only for guided experiences.

Let’s get DIYing, 19th-century style! Everyone will enjoy this hands-on class, as we explore the Historic Village to glean all we can from the village tradespeople before trying our hand at a variety of trades. You may learn how to twist a fancy s-hook with the blacksmith, cut and shape tin with the tinsmith, shave staves with the cooper, print your own card with the printer, stitch a broom with the broom maker, and more.

Have fun learning open-hearth cooking during this hands-on class for girls and boys. Explore the museum gardens, and bring seasonal ingredients back to the kitchen. Learn how to correctly build a fire for open-hearth cooking and make simple 19th-century dishes. During the week students will also make their very own receipt (recipe) book to bring home.

Explore the wonders of the woods with Summer Curiosity Camps at the Cumming Nature Center! Join our outdoor educators as we search for salamanders, build gnome homes, climb trees, and dig for artifacts. Each camp offers a different theme to immerse children in the natural world and spark their curiosity. Camp Winaukee is an all boys traditional overnight summer camp for boys ages 8 - 15. We offer excellent sports instruction amidst a well-rounded traditional summer camp program. Boys ages 8-15 enjoy playing sports, hiking, trying new things, making new friends, playing on Lake Winnipesaukee and most importantly, spend their time at camp technology free! We will read short mysteries, solve riddles, and write tales of intrigue. You will learn about the elements of a mystery, participate in shared inquiry discussions, and engage in a writer’s workshop to create your own story. This camp will culminate in an authors’ celebration for participants and their families.

Have you ever wondered how your favorite TV show got to the screen? Want to try your hand at writing a script made for TV? In this camp you will learn to write your own screenplay as well as collaborate on a pilot episode for a TV Series. We will generate ideas, learn to use the three-act structure, and operate as if we were in our own TV writers room.

Our camps ensure a fun and exciting experience while developing basketball skills. Campers will receive excellent instruction from Hilbert College coaches and players and will have the opportunity to practice these skills in a competitive setting. Each participant will also participate in a variety of enjoyable and challenging drills, contests, and games. The Hilbert College Girls’ Basketball Camp staff consists of local collegiate players as well as college and high school coaches.

A 5-day (day camp with overnight) camp with plenty of outdoor adventure for 7 to 12 year old boys and girls.

GLG Summer camps provide kids and teens ages 8-12 & 13-16 with the opportunity to build friendships, sharpen skills, and dive into organized competitive gaming. In just one week, campers will learn lifelong skills through team challenges, structured gameplay, and beginner-friendly STEAM activities such as designing their own board and video games! Each week-long session is $500.

Weeklong camps July 13-August 21: Join us for a fun-filled camp (full and half day) with a focus on the art of sword fighting. Full Day Camp (9AM to 3PM) teaches the skills of the Olympic sport of fencing, martial arts, stage combat, and more. Half Day Camp will be fencing only (9AM to 12PM). This camp is designed for individuals between 8 and 14 years of age and for anyone without any previous experience, or anyone interested in brushing up on their fencing and martial arts skills! 

In this music camp, 5 to 7-year-old beginners will learn about different rock instruments and begin their introduction to music theory and appreciation.

Set against Paradox Lake sunsets and nights full of s'mores, in our 2 or 3 week sessions, your campers form lifelong bonds, build confidence, and come home with too many memories to stuff into their duffel bags. Calling all aspiring marine biologists! Campers will spend a week exploring ocean science alongside the Aquarium’s experts, gaining hands-on experience through water experiments, microscope investigations, habitat exploration, and behind-the-scenes lab access. By the end of the week, campers will have a deeper understanding of our blue planet, how scientists study it, and why it is so important to preserve and protect ocean ecosystems.

The Day Camp program is designed for campers in grades K-7. These campers will spend their days immersed in Creative Themes’s beautiful outdoor setting. Our schedule gives campers a variety of choices throughout the day. The camp activities make everyday fun!

Register your child for the University of Rochester Warner School of Education and Human Development’s Annual Young Writers Summer Camp, tailored to students in grades 6–12, who love to write and want to spend time with like-minded peers practicing different kinds of writing. New York State-certified teachers provide instruction on multiple writing strategies during the weeklong camp, held August 3–7, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in LeChase Hall on the University of Rochester’s River Campus. A 10% discount applies to families with more than one child attending the camp. Register for camp before the July 20 deadline.

Camps are held Monday-Thursday 11am-3pm. 1 project a day will be created. Full week of camp sign ups by 5/31/26 receive a VIP membership. That's a $75 value and gets your camper 20% off bisque painted with us for 1 year after camp ends.

3 Week August Summer Dance Intensive at Draper Center for Dance Education

Ms. Mason's Art Club is expanding for summer 2026! In addition to our art sessions for elementary school kids, we are adding separate art sessions for Middle school students with more advanced ideas and projects. Projects will not be like school projects! :-) Monday to Friday 9:30 to 12noon, weeklong camp sessions in July and August. The cost is $150 per week and all materials are included. The School of Rochester City Ballet Summer Intensive offers dancers an inspiring and rigorous training experience led by current and former professional dancers, alongside exceptional guest faculty from the professional dance world. Together, they provide students with high-level instruction, mentorship, and real-world insight. The program emphasizes classical ballet and technique while incorporating other styles, and cross-training to support strength, versatility, and artistry.

June 29th - August 14th, 2026: Learn to Sail or hone your skills in our weekly summer sailing camp at the Rochester Yacht Club. We are home to one of Western New York’s largest summer sailing camps and offer classes to non-members in addition to our membership. Summer sailing camp dates:

CCS offers small-boat sailing instruction for youths ages 7 – 18. Help your kids discover the joy of sailing – it can last a lifetime! Canandaigua Community Sailing was created in 2017 to focus on connecting with the Canandaigua community. CCS is a place for both kids and adults to learn how to sail and race. Roc City Sailing offers hands-on sailing classes for kids and teens ages 8 to 17. Our goal is to teach young sailors how to handle a boat safely and confidently while having fun and developing teamwork and respect for the water.

Includes: Jazz, arts and crafts, snack, and a performance on the last day of class.
