Summer Camp at Stages - 3rd floor of the West Herr Performing Arts Center. In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice Spencer’s budding teen life is turned upside down, and she and her dear friend Alfred are forced to take shelter in an underground tube station. When the ailing Alfred is quarantined, Alice encourages him to escape with her into their cherished book and journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland.

The Strong Museum Summer Camp offers unique museum-based learning experiences that will spark the imagination and allow campers to learn and discover through play and exploration. Each week campers will be provided with one-of-a-kind learning opportunities engaging with different museum professionals and exhibits along with teacher-led classroom time to further investigate and expand on these themes.

OFC’s kid camp shows are typically 60-minutes in length and include full cast musical numbers as well as opportunities to feature soloists, specialty dancers, and supporting characters. Oftentimes these are Junior (Jr.) productions which are a 60-minute version of a full Broadway show, the Jr. versions reduce verses in long songs, cut subplots or unneeded musical numbers, and make the scripts easy to read and memorize for student performers.

This camp is perfect for your first theatre experience. Focusing on skills in acting, singing, and dance — instructors will lead campers in learning a short 12–15-minute full stage production. Campers will be introduced to costumes, sets, props, and more all while having fun onstage! Each camper is guaranteed a role in the show. Perfect for kids coming out of their shell or for those ready to take center stage and hit their spotlight!

Join resident rocker Dave Chisholm in Rochester’s original Rock Camp, where the emphasis is on creativity, group interplay, and writing new material. This fun camp is intended specifically for students with an interest in a variety of rock and pop genres. Participants will write new songs, delve into the history of rock and rock music theory, as well as engage in plenty of collaborative jamming.

This workshop is open to all skill levels, covering fundamentals like posture, hand technique, and basic chords, as well as simple improvisation. For intermediate mandolin players, it focuses on skills like playing in second and third position, tremolo, glide strokes, and ensemble playing. Participants will also improve their musicianship through group performance.

Experience the vibrant music of Bali in this five-day Gamelan Workshop, open to students in grades 6 and up, including adults. Participants will learn traditional Balinese music on gamelan angklung through oral/aural instruction, developing fundamental techniques and an appreciation for non-Western musical aesthetics. This is a non-residential, in-person program.

The Eastman Summer Studio Orchestra, open to all area orchestral musicians, celebrates Rochester's Hollywood history through performances of film scores, new compositions, and songs from the Great American Songbook. The ensemble will feature guest vocal artists for special appearances.

For almost 100 years, Camp Stella Maris has been a home away from home for campers to try new and exciting things, challenge themselves, and make friends that will last a lifetime. Campers unplug for the week and experience the excitement of an entire summer in just six days. Our overnight campers sleep in one of our 21 cabins while Day Campers share the facilities during the day. We offer overnight camp sessions for campers coming out of 3rd-12th grade. Campers who choose a Residential Camp week will stay in cabins on our 245 acre campus on the shores of Sacandaga Lake.

At LEGO Lab: Create & Innovate camp, the possibilities are endless as campers dive into a world of imagination and engineering! Using LEGO bricks as their building blocks, they’ll tackle exciting challenges that spark their creativity and develop their problem- solving skills. From constructing elaborate cities and futuristic vehicles to designs of their own imagination, campers will work on projects that push their limits and expand their minds.
