Super Human: The Power of Technology - Traveling exhibit at the RMSC
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Super Human is hands-on, full-body, and unlike anything you’ve experienced at RMSC before.
Six ways to test your limits
Mind Control
Strap on a brain-computer interface and compete against a friend to levitate a ball using nothing but focus. The same neural-interfacing technology is helping people with conditions like cerebral palsy interact with the world around them.
EXOSKELETON
Climb inside a powered exoskeleton and control an on-screen avatar to see what enhanced strength really feels like. This technology is already at work in rehabilitation medicine, in warehouses, and even in space travel.
Race Against a Paralympian
Line up beside a life-size projection of a Paralympic sprinter and see if you can keep pace. Sports prosthetics draw on materials science, biomechanics, and electronics — and they’re advancing fast enough that some may soon outperform natural limbs.
Bionic Eye
See the world through a bionic eye simulation and learn how stimulating the optic nerve can partially restore lost vision — one of the many ways technology is expanding what our own senses can do.
Wind Tunnel
Grab an accessory and step into a real wind tunnel to feel how aerodynamics works. Nearly every engineering trick for cutting through air was borrowed from nature first — this is your chance to test it yourself.
Jet Pack
Put on a helmet and fly a virtual jetpack over a city skyline. Real jetpacks are still a legal and technical puzzle — so while you’re flying, think about how you’d use one to help someone.
