Turtle Trek
It’s turtle time on the Erie Canal! Let’s see how many we can find. Join Alyssa Rose for a Turtle Trek through the Palmyra Wetlands. Along the way we will learn about and observe local turtles, document our findings, play games, and create an adorable bead turtle!

Groups will gather at the Pal-Mac Aqueduct Park boat launch pavilion. Hikers are asked to arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in. Each group can hold up to 10 children, so reserve your family’s spot today!
More Information:
- This hike is approximately 1.5 miles long and has an elevation gain of 7 feet. The program will last approximately 2 hours.
- Recommended for ages 4-12.
- Reservations are required and must be made at https://forms.gle/95ufHDQqh3EYyDtV6
- $20 per child must be paid to Adventures with Alyssa Rose in cash or via Venmo or Paypal prior to departing on your scheduled hike. One free adult is included per child. $5 for every additional adult. Family and group discounts are available.
- All children are required to have a parent present for the entire program. One adult can take responsibility for up to five children.
Adults will be required to complete a waiver prior to the hike for themselves and the children they claim responsibility for. - All participants are encouraged to walk or be carried. Strollers are welcome, but can sometimes be difficult to maneuver or need to be parked for a portion of the program.
- Closed toe shoes and weather appropriate clothing are required. Please dress for the weather and know we may encounter rain and mud.
- Parking is available at the check in location. Restrooms and drinking fountains are not available this early in the season.
- Private turtle treks are available upon request.
