Relay For Life of Greece
Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society's signature event, is a fun-filled overnight experience designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer. At Relay, people from within the community (families, friends, students, teachers, neighbors, co-workers, etc.) gather to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to the disease, and to fight back against cancer! The event is held overnight to represent the fact that cancer never sleeps, and each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times throughout the night. Through the Survivors lap and the Luminaria ceremony, we honor the people who have faced cancer first hand, and we remember those who have been lost to this disease.
Last year, with over 40 teams and a total of more than 500 participants, we were able to raise over $60,000, all of which went to the American Cancer Society to help fund cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services! The community of Greece has shown great support and dedication in spreading the word about this event, and we hope to see it grow each year.
The Relay For Life of Greece will be June 11-12, 2011 from 7:00 pm – 7:00 am (registration/check-in starts at 5:00 pm) at the Greece Apollo Middle School (750 Maiden Lane, Greece, NY 14615)!
Join us in the fight against cancer!
