Seasons in which we offer activities (select "All seasons" for all):
The New York Museum of Transportation is unique among Western New York's museums: In addition to providing train rides on the only electric trolley ride in New York State, we have a large model railroad for model enthusiasts young and old. This is a hands-on museum full of highway and horse-drawn vehicles, photos, exhibits, gallery, gift shop. Open Sundays only, and featuring monthly special events.

The New York Museum of Transportation has been delighting families, train enthusiasts and history buffs since 1973.  Train rides are offered in the summer months and selected winter dates on 90-year-old trolley cars.  The only trolley ride in New York State recreates the "interurban era" of a century ago when trolleys traveled cross-country.  The ride through open fields and forest is scenic and unique.  The hands-on museum itself contains historic trolley cars, a steam locomotive, fire engine, huge model railroad, numerous exhibits, a gallery, and gift shop.

We are a great venue for birthdays and other family or group events.  We provide an authentic trolley car indoors seating 36 for your party.  The museum is open Sundays only, but group tours can be arranged on weekdays by appointment, including a guided tour of the museum and a trolley ride.

The museum is located at 6393 East River Road in the Town of Rush, about 20 minutes south of Rochester and easily reached from Exit 11 on I-390 (take 251 West to the flashing red light, turn right and go a mile to our driveway).  Admission includes the trolley ride and is $10 adults, $9 seniors (age 65 and older), $8 youths (age 3 - 12).  Under age 3 are free.  Check us out at  Contact or call (585) 533-1113.
