Nazareth Elementary

Nazareth Elementary is a Catholic school in the tradition of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, serving students in Preschool through Grade 6 in the city of Rochester and surrounding communities. We offer a strong, faith-based education and warmly welcome students of all ethnicities, faith traditions, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Our STREAM-focused curriculum integrates science, technology, religion, engineering, the arts, and mathematics to promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. At Nazareth, we educate the whole child—supporting academic growth while nurturing spiritual development, social-emotional learning, and a lifelong love of learning rooted in Christian values. Students are encouraged to strive for excellence, embrace diversity, and live lives of service as they grow in wisdom, age, and grace.
Learning at Nazareth extends beyond the classroom through intentional community partnerships that enrich our curriculum and provide meaningful, real-world experiences. These enrichment opportunities include:
-
Maplewood YMCA, offering a swimming program that enhances our physical education curriculum and promotes water safety
-
Junior Achievement, providing career awareness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship programming for all students in Grades 1–6
-
Brooklyn Robot Foundry, delivering hands-on STREAM workshops that foster creativity, collaboration, and engineering skills
-
St. Pius Federal Credit Union, which supports financial literacy through age-appropriate lessons in saving and money management. Banking available for all students, families and staff
-
Genesee Country Village & Museum, partnering with Nazareth to offer a History Club for students in Grades 1–3 through immersive, experiential learning
