What our organization offers:
Seasons / holidays:
Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
Olivette is a ‘small batch’ enrichment ‘tutorial’ group of young learners (ages 4-7/8 yrs.) engaging in a variety of “tastings” from the feast of education (Nature play/theme study/hikes, Art varied medium play/Picture and Artist study, Handwork, Literature, Yard games/Creative Movement/Free play (mud kitchen, sensory/water table, fort bldg. etc.), Cooking, Gardening, and more. Our program content is inspired in part by our locale and seasons, the relational education philosophy and practices of British educator Charlotte Mason, and a hospitable ethos that seeks to cultivate peace and joy through a gentle devotion to Judeo-Christian values. We are a drop off program in a home/outdoor setting -2.5 semi wooded acres with walking proximity to the West side of Irondequoit Bay and Bay West hiking trails. We gather mornings for an optional one or two half days a week* (plus opt. 2 hr. lunch/play extension-limited openings). Olivette is facilitated by 20+ years experienced early childhood educator and former homeschooler. We extend a warm welcome to explore our offerings and references. *for 2023/2024 we are gathering Tuesday and Thursdays.
