Genesee Valley Park Sports Complex

Located in Genesee Valley Park, the Sports Complex is an all-season facility that offers ice skating, aquatics amenities, and an all-purpose sports floor. 

Note: the closest public library branch to the Complex is the Arnett Branch, 310 Arnett Boulevard.

Ice Arena

The Ice Arena is open from September 11, 2010 to April 9, 2011 (closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter).  The Ice Arena is the proud home of the hockey teams from the University of Rochester, Gates-Chili High School, Rochester Red Wings Youth Hockey, and McQuaid Jesuit High School. The current schedule is as follows:

Open Skate* 

Sundays:                                                          2:30-3:45 p.m.
Monday-Friday                                                12 -1:15 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday                   10:30-11:45 a.m. (Ages 18 and over)
Friday (starting 10-1-10)                               10-11:15 p.m. (Ages 16 and over)  
Saturday:                                                          5:00-6:15 p.m.

Skate and Shoot (Helmets Required)
Tuesday and Friday:                                          1:30-3:00 p.m. (Ages 14 and over)

Sunday                                                                 7:30-9:00 a.m.  (Ages 40 and over)

Among other special programs, the arena offers:

• Snack bar and lockers (bring your own lock)

• Women's hockey leagues 
• Birthday party packages for children and adults (one low price for up to 12 guests)
• A free youth hockey program (ages 6-16); free for City residents, fee for non-City residents 
• Special holiday and recess skate schedules

Aquatics Facility

From late June to Labor Day, the GVP Complex Aquatics Facility offers an outdoor olympic-sized swimming pool to cool off in the summer. It is home to the Genesee Valley Swim Team and the Rochester Water Polo Club.

Among other special programs, the Aquatics Facility offers:

• Open swim
• Free swimming instruction for City youth ages 6-18
  (nominal fee for non-City youth)  
• Snack bar and lockers (bring your own lock)
