Cheesemaking Workshop

Learn the fundamentals of cheesemaking in a 19th-century kitchen at Genesee Country Village & Museum. Participants ages 18 and up will craft a hard cheese from start to finish while gaining practical skills to use at home during this popular hands-on workshop.

Cheesemaking Workshop at Genesee Country Village & Museum offers adults the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of cheesemaking in a historic setting.
Participants will step into one of the Museum’s 19th-century kitchens to learn traditional cheesemaking techniques while crafting a hard cheese from start to finish. Guided by Museum educators, the workshop provides hands-on experience and practical skills that can be used at home, making it a favorite for both beginners and returning participants.
This workshop is recommended for ages 18 and up. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
