Wild Wisdom Play Class

Research has shown us over and over that our kids are missing out on a critical component of developing the social skills, resilience, problem solving, empathy, focus and creativity that come from gently guided and free play outdoors in nature with friends. Wild Wisdom Play classes are based on the nationally recognized Tinkergarten curriculum offered locally by Renée Thompson since 2018.
Our Soring 2025 semester consists of 8 weekly 75-90 minute classes, beginning in early April. We are happy to offer two sessions; Tuesday mornings at 10 in Bullis Park, just NW of Macedon, and Friday mornings at 10 in Ellison Park. In each class we build community with a gathering circle of greetings and songs, learn about a featured creature with song and movement and then explore an invitation to play. Play invitations are open ended and process over product. Each child is encouraged to engage with the materials and environment in ways that are authentic and developmentally appropriate. Adults can participate along side their child, assisting where asked or needed, but refraining from directing the play. Toward the end of class we gather up materials, clean up and gather once again for our beloved tea time circle. Here we express gratitude, reflect on the day's activity and enjoy each other's company before we sing our so-long song.
