Honeoye Falls Lima High School Robotics Team- 2228
The Vision of FIRST "To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes."
-Dean Kamen, Founder
What is FRC? For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) was created to teach students skills in business and engineering. FIRST robotics is an interactive after school activity, where a team designs and builds a robot that is used in competition. The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges teams of students and mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week timeframe using standard parts and a common set of rules. Students are rewarded for design, team spirit, gracious professionalism, and the ability to overcome obstacles.
Established in 2006, team Cougar Tech 2228 has competed in the 2007 and 2008 season. Our team is currently designing and building a robot to compete in the 2009 season. We have over 30 students and a dozen mentors. Students on team 2228 attend Honeoye Falls Lima High School and Rush Henrietta High School. Team 2228 builds and designs our robot at Honeoye Falls Lima High School. We give unparalleled support to our teammates and are proud to have stormed onto the FIRST scene as one of the premier rookie teams. We owe everything we have to our wonderful sponsors, who graciously donated enough money for us to attend the Championships in our inaugural year.
