What our organization offers:
Subjects / Categories:
Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
Empire United is a not-for-profit (501c3) organization. All player tuitions cover actual costs to run the program with a net zero revenue each year. Financial assistance is available for families with demonstrated need. Our professional coaching and operations staff are hired for their technical and administrative expertise and are required to complete NYS risk management and background checks. Each of our coaches holds or pursues the USSF coaching license commensurate with the age/level they aspire to coach. Our Zone 1 teams (ages 7-12) focus on fundamental skill building, age appropriate development and enjoyment while competing primarily in WNY. Our Zone 2 teams (ages 13-18) focus on advanced technical skills and tactical, physical and psycho-social development in a rigorous training environment. These teams compete regionally and nationally as appropriate, with our pre-college age players (15-17) receiving exposure at College Showcase events. Our Development Academy teams (ages 14-19) are for our most committed and highest level players. We follow US Soccer best practices for physical and tactical periodization, while providing the most demanding training environment in youth soccer. Our DA teams compete with MLS and non-MLS academies in the Northeast Division as well as academies from across the country at the annual US Soccer DA Showcase events.

HISTORY

In 2007, three of Western New York’s top soccer club – the Rochester Junior Rhinos, Syracuse Football Club and Buffalo United Soccer Club – joined together to form Empire United Soccer Academy. The unification of these clubs was made possible by their strong working relationship and shared vision on the development of youth soccer players. Empire United believes in a holistic approach to player development. The club’s primary function is to provide an environment that fosters personal, academic, athletic and soccer-specific growth for each individual player.

MISSION STATEMENT

We aim to provide the youth of Western New York the benefits of a team sport that develops character and sportsmanship, promotes enjoyment and allows each individual player to achieve his/her best on and off the soccer field.

Additionally, we expect to provide elite-level youth soccer players with a challenging, high performance environment. Our goal is to offer the serious player a platform for them to attain their highest possible level, whether that is college, professional or international competition.

VISION STATEMENT

Empire United aspires to be the best, most comprehensive soccer club in Western New York. We measure ourselves by how well we develop our players and our coaches. Are we consistently developing Academy level players, college players and professional players at a rate above any other club in WNY and comparable to other non-MLS Academy clubs? Similarly, are we providing the resources and environment for our coaches to develop at a rate beyond that of other clubs in our market and on par with other DA clubs?
