Oh, the thrill of a double life – there is nothing quite like playing a villain on stage! In this brand-new class, students will explore material from the Despicable Me series, specifically focused on how to best portray villains (and their minions) on stage. Students will work on storytelling techniques to make their characters believable, have motivations for why they are evil, and discover how villains can often be comical too!
With music and themes from the Despicable Me movies, students will sing, dance, and write their own skits on how to be the best possible villain they can be! Including songs like “Turn Up the Sunshine,” “(Because I’m) Happy,” “You Should Be Dancing,” “Shining Star,” and more! The class will conclude with a showcase for family and friends, featuring group songs and dances, and each student will have a solo or featured piece. Students do not need to audition for the program.
