Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
Instructional and competitive rowing for boys and girls Grades 7-12 on the Erie Canal/Genesee River; excellent cross-training and team building for other sports! No experience necessary - open to anyone in a town without an existing club.

You’ve seen us rowing on the Genesee River and Erie Canal; here’s your chance to join us!

Who:  Brighton Rowing Club welcomes boys and girls in grades 7-12 throughout Monroe County. BRC focuses on developing rowing skills in our 1-, 2-, 4- and 8-person shells, and having fun. Placement in regatta boats is driven by effort and dedication displayed, as well as by ability.

What: Rowing is a total body workout that builds endurance, strength, balance, mental discipline and teamwork, and has a very low risk of injury.  It's excellent cross-training off-season for other sports!

Summer Learn-to-Row Program:  Summer Learn to Row teaches rowing techniques, and quickly progresses to rowing on the water.  Session can be taken by itself, or as preparation for the Fall season.  No rowing/boating experience is necessary, but participants must be able to swim.  All equipment is provided.   http://brightoncrew.org/crew/?page_id=198 http://brightoncrew.org/crew/?page_id=198

When: Rowers may participate in Spring and/or Fall seasons.  Spring Season begins in mid-January with indoor Winter Conditioning after school.  On-water practice begins late March thru Memorial Day.  Fall Season begins around Labor Day thru early November.
