This is the first time this exhibit is available to the public. Created by Little Rays in Ontario, Canada, the exhibit combines art, education, and conservation messaging with sculptures representing the species throughout the Zoo.
Designed for visitors of all ages, Tales of Conservation encourages exploration, photo opportunities, and hands-on learning, with fully climbable, interactive sculptures including the peregrine falcon, black rhinoceros, cheetah, Bornean orangutan, and more.
While some of these sculptures are life size, others, like the Panamanian golden frog, are massive in scale compared to the actual animal. They are designed with people with low vision in mind, as all are textured to demonstrate the scales, skin, or feathers of the animal. Each sculpture also has signage sharing the role zoos have played in saving each species. Guests will also have access to information on the role Seneca Park Zoo has played with several of these species, including Panamanian golden frogs and Eastern Massasagua rattlesnakes.
The sculptures can be found throughout the Zoo, with five located on the playground as guests enter the Zoo, so they can’t be missed.
