7th Annual Peace Walk - Cameron Community Ministries and Healthi Kids
*The event has already taken place on this date: Thu, 05/30/2019
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Partnering with the Healthi Kids Coalition, an initiative of Common Ground Health, and the Lyell/Otis Neighborhood Association, the kids are hosting the walk to call for a safer neighborhood. The children will lead their friends, community members and family in their daily route along Cameron St., Otis St., and Lyell Ave. Marchers will wear t-shirts with a famous Frederick Douglass quote that say, “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” Following the march, children ages 5-12 years old will share their thoughts on how violence in their neighborhoods has affected them and why it is important for them to take a stand for peace.
Join us and encourage others to walk with our kids because everyone deserves a safe place to play!
The kids will be selling T-shirt’s if you’d like to buy one of your own. $10 cash only and we need a size and name reservation ahead of time.
