Camp Turner
After a record-breaking year in 2023, Camp Turner is looking forward to its 101st summer of helping young people (ages 7-16) discover God, nature and their place in the world.
Located within gorgeous Allegany State Park, Camp Turner makes summer memories through a wide range of activities such as horseback riding, archery, hiking, arts and crafts, ropes courses, campfires and much more. And we are always growing ... a bike paths (along with a biking program) were added in 2023.
"I love Camp Turner because there is just so much to do. There's archery, horseback riding, crafts and the outdoor living skills program - that's my favorite," says camper Emma. "When you walk through the woods, the outside world stops. I forget about my phone and electronics and prepare for an adventure!"
While fun is an important part of the camp experience for most youngsters, personal growth is a much-appreciated biproduct. Our caring staff members are committed to building an inclusive environment that encourages the development of skills such as cooperation, teamwork and respect of self, others and nature. Just ask our parents...
"I noticed a difference in my daughter, Katie, right away," says Barbara. "She came back from camp more self confident and a bit more worldly. She surprised us all at the dinner table her first night home by saying she wanted to start taking weekly family hikes for the rest of the summer!"
Camperships (scholarships) for families in need of assistance are always available to ensure no child misses out on the meaningful experience of summer camp.
