Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of our Kwanzaa Celebration of Ujima! Celebrated on the third day of Kwanzaa, Ujima is a principle that emphasizes the importance of collective work and responsibility within the community. Enjoy free museum admission and join us as we celebrate together and embrace music, art, culture, community, and more.
Schedule of Events
12–12:30 pm | Welcome and Meet & Greet featuring African drumming in the Vanden Brul Pavilion
12:30 pm | Opening Kwanzaa Ceremony with Kiah Nyame in the Vanden Brul Pavilion
12:30–3 pm | Make & Take Art Activity* with Teaching Artists in the Hyman Green Room (inside museum galleries)
1–2 pm | Guided Tour** of African collection and African American Artists in the MAG (Meet at Admissions Desk)
2 pm | Film Screening of July ‘64
3 pm | Closing Kwanzaa Ceremony in the Vanden Brul Pavilion

**The guided tour will have a limited capacity; spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis
