You Can Help a Family in Need this Holiday Season! Join the YWCA Adopt-A-Family Program!
Each year YWCA Adopt-A-Family supporters help hundreds of families throughout Rochester have a happy holiday! Women and families experiencing homelessness, recovering from addiction and navigating young adult pregnancy are matched with supporters from the community who want to make a difference. By providing gifts and items that YWCA women and families need, Adopt-A-Family supporters make sure a YWCA family has a wonderful holiday season. Shopping for wish-list items such as a warm winter coat or a special toy is the perfect way to share the meaning of the holidays with your own family!
More about the YWCA Adopt-A-Family Program:
- Go to www.ywcarochester.org and click on Get Involved
- Choose how many people you would like to “adopt” (We match donors and families based on the number of people participating and the items needed)
- Once matched, we will provide you with a list of family members, including ages and gift wishes (sizes, too, if clothing is on their wish-list)
- We ask that you purchase 1-3 gifts for each person on your list
- Gift cards to Wegmans, Wal-Mart and Target are always welcome
- Please do not wrap gifts. Gift bags are preferred
- Drop off dates and times will be sent to you with directions and other information you may need
