Where can your family pick apples in western New York?

Ella picking apples For more information on local places your family can pick apples, below are locations of area farm markets. If you know of a U-pick apple location that I have not included, please email me! When I was putting together this page, I talked with many apple growers who would love to offer pick-your-own apples, but can't. Know why? It's our litigious society; the high insurance cost makes it not worthwhile for them. Isn't that a shame? One last thing: If a grower does not have a web site listing hours, PLEASE call first to make sure they are open! (This is experience talking!)

Wickham Farms

Penfield, NY
Directons

In 2014, Wickham Farms planted thousands of apple trees in their new orchard on Sweets Corners Road in Penfield. The apples are grown using a trellis system so the trees remain short, allowing pickers to access the apples without the use of ladders. The orchard is carefully planned, so different apple varieties become available throughout the season. Currently, they have planted Jonagold, Crispin (sometimes called Mutsu), Empire, Honeycrisp, McIntosh, and Gala varieties, adding Jonamac this year. Their first picking season in 2015 was a huge success. Apple picking begins mid-September. Visitors are urged to check their website for updated information.
