November 16 – January 5, 2025: 40 minutes / For all ages: The Planetarium's family holiday spectacular returns as our new state-of-the-art laser system and full-dome visualization system combine to create a more colorful and immersive experience than ever before. This show features your favorite holiday songs played back-to-back, from Mariah Carey to Mannheim Steamroller, choreographed with dancing laser light among the stars of the Planetarium sky.

Experience the epic emotion, soaring music and breathtaking dance of The Prince of Egypt, a brand new musical with music and lyrics by Grammy and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), a book by Philip LaZebnik (Disney’s Mulan and Pocahontas), and ten new songs written by Schwartz, together with five of his songs from the adored DreamWorks Animation film.

Charles Dickens’ holiday classic returns to the Geva stage in a new adaptation by Playwright in Residence Harrison David Rivers. Over the course of a single night, notorious grump Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by four ghosts. But will their intervention prompt him to change his “humbug” ways? Filled with humor, heart, hope – and a little bit of horror – A Christmas Carol reminds us that it is never too late to have a change of heart.

It’s that time of year again when the silver screen turns to tinsel and we celebrate the end of the year with holiday classics on the big screen. Highlighted by a rare 35mm print of the Alistair Sim-led adaptation of A Christmas Carol, this series brings together films from the last 80 years of cinema to warm the soul and spur the heart to joyousness this holiday season. In between Christmas and New Year’s, you can revisit the landmark science fiction dystopian philoso-fest The Matrix and all of its sequels as the original film turns 25 this year.

The sixth annual Roc Holiday Village presents 17 days of enchanting festivities from December 6 to December 29, every Wednesday to Sunday. The downtown Rochester festival features free ice skating and skate rentals, a unique Shopping Village, free visits & pictures with Santa, fire pits with outdoor seating, indoor and outdoor bars, hand-crafted goods, Cozy Winter Igloos, free crafts for kids, food trucks, a variety of holiday celebrations, live music, private events, nightlife and more. In 2023, Roc Holiday Village drew over 185,000 people of all ages to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Memorial Park. 2024 will be Roc Holiday Village’s sixth year.

Family Night is every Sunday after 4PM! Bring your family climbing for just $13 per pass (regularly $23 for youth and $26 for adults). To participate, at least one parent must purchase a pass or be a current member. Each pass includes rental shoes, harness, and an Auto Belay and Bouldering orientation.
