Christina Bouey, Rhiannon Banerdt, violin; Colin Brookes, viola; Grace Ho, cello We’re excited to present the Ulysses Quartet, winner of the 2016 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the 2018 Schoenfeld International String Competition, who will guide us on an exploration of the string quartet’s capabilities and history. We begin with its Enlightenment-era origins (with Haydn), dance our way through the folk music of two different cultures (Danish and Azerbaijani), before delving into Beethoven’s monumental and intensely personal contribution to the genre, Opus 132.
