Teens ages 13 to 18 can put imaginative ideas into motion during Google Play’s Change the Game Design Workshop at The Strong. Join Global Marketing Lead of YouTube Gaming Elizabeth Del Valle as she leads brainstorming sessions for the next mobile game idea. Following the workshop, teens will submit their idea to Google Play’s Change the Game Design Challenge and explore the museum’s Women in Games exhibit during a special guided tour.
This free program is presented with Google Play’s Change the Game Design Challenge, empowering teens to use their skills and creativity to design mobile games. Five winning teens in the nationwide contest will have their game made in partnership with Girls Make Games and launched on the Google Play Store—inspiring, educating, and empowering thousands more, with the hope of creating a more equitable mobile gaming industry. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $15,000 scholarship for higher education and a $15,000 tech donation to their school or community center.
The program is also part of The Strong’s Women in Games initiative, which documents and celebrates the crucial contributions of women to the electronic games industry, past and present.
Limited spots available. Preregistration is recommended. Sign up now at museumofplay.org.
