The Iceplex Skating 101 Program is the first step in teaching the fundamental skills of ice skating to anyone with a desire to play ice hockey, figure skate, or to skate recreationally. This 8-week program is designed for the true beginner, it meets once a week, and is taught by our world class skating instructional staff. Rental skates are provided to any participants who wish to use them, and this is done at no additional charge.
The class format consists of 50 minutes on the ice, split into a 25 minute group lesson, followed by 25 minutes of supervised practice time where participants work on newly learned skills in a fun environment. We have all our classes capped to avoid overcrowding on the ice, therefore on-ice areas are restricted solely for staff and participants of the program. As each class has their own learning curve and learns at different paces, we do not allow for make-up classes.
