Seneca Sailing Academy offers sailing instruction for children and adults throughout the summer. Lessons are open to the public and membership at Seneca Yacht Club is not required for participation. We have been offering smallboat sailing instruction for youth ages7-17 since 1949. Visit our website for more information at www.senecasailingacademy.org
SSA is a summer sailing camp which focuses on small boat sailing instruction for youth ages 7-17 following the US Sailing curriculum.
Each camp runs for one week from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday. The instructors evaluate the campers at the start of each week and place them in the most age and skill appropriate group.
The days are split between land activities and on the water activities. Our goal is for each camper to be comfortable on the water, be able to rig a boat, sail and return to the dock. They will learn seamanship, parts of the boat, sail trim, steering, capsize recovery procedures, docking, rigging with fun and safety as part of our focus.
All levels welcome!
