Science Saturday: Explore the Dinosaur Crater of Doom!

Author Kevin Kurtz will be here to tell stories of his part in the expedition to study the impact crater from the asteroid that caused the mass extinction of dinosaurs!

Sixty-six million years ago, the Chicxulub K-Pg Impact Crater struck what is now the Gulf of Mexico. See photos and hear stories about author Kevin Kurtz's experience as part of the expedition study the impact crater from the asteroid that cause the mass extinction that wiped out most of the dinosaurs!

Kids and teens can also experience the International Ocean Discovery Program's inflatable replica of the JOIDES Resolution, one of their scientific research ships; a floor map of the Western Hemisphere that shows some of the locations, evidence, and consequences of the asteroid impact; and a stackable plush puzzle of one of the cores that shows evidence of the asteroid impact.
