Who made those tracks and where do they go? If your child enjoys outdoor play and would like to engage in cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, shelter building, and discovering what our area wildlife are up to during the winter months, this February Break Camp is for him or her! Participants will spend much of the day outside hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, exploring winter ecology, and learning primitive skills. There will also be time indoors to warm up with group activities, craft making, and storytelling by our cozy fireplace.
Through experiential learning, campers will build on their understanding of nature through a mix of outdoor recreation, scientific observation, and playful exploration. The beautiful, natural surroundings of Cumming Nature Center offer an ideal setting for this discovery-based camp. Campers will gain a close familiarity with distinct features of the nature center landscape, building an ultimate understanding of how these unique, integral elements are part of the larger whole.
Children have the option of signing up for a T/Th day-camp, a M/W/F day-camp, or the entire week. Free ski and snowshoe rentals for participants.
