RMSC Animal Week
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 02/23/2020
Explore and discover the amazing world of the animal kingdom. From insects to mammals and beyond, join us to learn about how creatures have many ways and "superpowers" that help them survive in different environments. Animal Week allows visitors to engage in hands-on learning about different members of the animal kingdom. Instead of staring at photos on a wall, or animals behind glass, visitors will get the opportunity to pet and even hold a variety of different creatures. Local groups like the Wildlife Rockstars, NY Bee Wellness, and the Animal Teacher will be at the museum with their animal-friends throughout the week.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
In addition to interacting with live animals, you can also look forward to an assortment of activities that can interest the whole family:
- An “I Spy with My Eye” museum-wide animal scavenger hunt
- Take a “Walk On The Wild Side” by trying to walk stride for stride in the footsteps of different wildlife.
- Explore how species all across the animal kingdom use their “Super Senses” to see, hear, taste, and smell.
- Discover the power of patterns and how animals use camouflage to create a “Now You See It” act by blending into different environments.
This is just a taste of what can be expected during this week-long event, so make sure to stop by the museum during February break to learn more!
