Perinton Historical Society’s popular “Yuletide Traditions” fundraiser returns to the Fairport Museum for its fifth year. The community is invited to join the fun and participate by donating a decorated gift basket, a gift certificate, decorated wreath or tabletop tree for the silent auctions. Donation registration begins September 29 and runs through NOVEMBER 10.

All funds raised from this event support the Society’s educational programs for youths and adults, exhibit creation and artifact acquisitions. Donation drop-offs will be accepted at the museum, 18 Perrin Street, Fairport, on Saturday, November 17, 11AM-4PM and Sunday, November 18, 9AM-12PM. Items do not need to be holiday themed.

Bids for the silent auctions will begin Tuesday, November 20, 4PM-9PM and will be accepted through Tuesday, December 11, 6PM-7PM. Bidding will close promptly that evening at 7PM. The lucky winners will be announced at the conclusion of that evening’s presentation. Donated items will be on display in the museum at 18 Perrin Street, Fairport during these times as well as regular operating hours. Donors and donations will be acknowledged at the Fairport Museum, in the December issue of the PHS newsletter “Historigram,” and on the Society’s website. All proceeds from the Silent Auction of these donated items will be used to benefit the Perinton Historical Society.

Fairport Historical Museum, home of the Perinton Historical Society, is nestled in the Village of Fairport and is a showcase of local artifacts, biographies and history.
The Museum houses more than 6 paintings from renowned artist, and late Fairport resident, Carl Peters. Peter’s works include portraits, landscapes, and the Museum’s star attraction, an oil-on-canvas WPA mural commissioned and installed in 1938 by the Fairport Public Library, original tenant of the current building.
