*The event has already taken place on this date: Mon, 12/03/2018
Please join us for a family friendly and uplifting celebration of Frederick Douglass to be held at Hochstein’s Performance Hall. This special event is co-sponsored by departments and programs at the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

This event, free and open to the public, is a capstone of Rochester's bicentennial celebration of Frederick Douglass, celebrated citywide in 2018.

The program will feature a talk by renowned Yale historian David Blight, whose new definitive biography of Douglass, Prophet of Freedom, has just been released.

The event will also include music in honor of Douglass’s life and legacy, and a few other surprises. More information to come, including a full program. This event is not to be missed. Community groups, church groups, and school groups are encouraged to attend.
