The Peacemakers | Kids Out and About Rochester

The Peacemakers

The ROS and special guests present an iconic work for a new age: Karl Jenkins’s “The Peacemakers.” Sponsored by the Rochester Area Community Foundation, with major support from Boosey & Hawkes.

Contemporary Welsh composer, Karl Jenkins, CBE, sets some of humanity's most compelling texts in this 73-minute, multi-media, world-music masterpiece. The Nazareth College Choir, the Rochester East High School Choir, and the ROS sing words of peace by the Dalai Lama, Ghandi, Terry Waits, Rumi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, and many others, to the accompaniment of the RITA collective's brilliant multi-instrumentalists. For our fourth annual collaboration with the University of Rochester Humanities Center, we welcome the Rochester Public Library, Thomas Warfield and PeaceArt, NTID, and Writers and Books to our performance.

This event takes place at Hochstein Performance Hall.
