Enter the world of Little Women! Practice Civil War era partner dancing alongside members of the Flint Hill Dancers, visit the Confectionery for a taste of "pickled limes" (a favorite treat of Amy March), play games in the Village Square, and learn about the rights of women in the mid-19th century. Practice on take-home worksheets as you learn the art of penmanship and cursive, and listen songs Beth March would have played on Mr. Laurence's piano.
In the Pioneer Village the focus will be on all things Little House on the Prairie. View pottery & blacksmithing demonstrations, learn about chores on the Wilder’s frontier home, dance to Pa’s fiddle music, meet our many farm animals, see a straw-braiding demonstration, and practice your spelling at our one-room schoolhouse!
Join Alice and the Mad Hatter for a “Mad Hatter Tea Picnic” in the magical gardens by our octagonal house (Hyde House)! Purchase a lunch at the Museum, or bring your own, as well as a blanket to picnic on as you hear the silly banter of Alice and the Mad Hatter. Learn to play croquet alongside your family just like they did in the Queen of Heart's garden!
“Eat Me” treats will be available for purchase at our Confectionary and “Drink Me” drinks available at the Pavilion!
Turn your visit into a game! Using the museum’s smartphone app, you can learn more about 19th century writing, reading a literature! Decipher parts of these classic stories to answer quiz questions and earn badges along the way!
