February Break Camp Production Program - Robin Hood, the Musical
Robin Hood is the outlaw of Sherwood Forest, leading a merry life with his followers. Anyone needing a place to live or food to eat is welcome in the greenwood. Impoverished citizens led by Robin are waging a battle against the evil Prince John. He has taken the place of King Richard the Lion-Hearted, who has gone on a crusade. Lady Merle of Cornwall, however, hopes to make John more acceptable to the people of England by forcing Maid Marian, Robin’s childhood sweetheart, to marry the Prince. It’s up to Robin to stop the marriage, defeat a nasty sheriff and secure Nottingham for the king’s return.

Spring Break Camp Production Program - Adventures of a Comic Book Artist, the Musical
Everyone loves comic book superheroes, so both cast and audience will love this action-packed spoof of the comic book genre complete with hysterical singing superheroes and dancing villains.
Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz wants nothing more than to become a comic book artist and create heroes and villains for the comic books he loves so much. As the janitor at Wonder Comics, he anxiously awaits the day that his boss, D.C. Wunderman, will see his drawings and give him the chance to have his superheroes come alive on the printed page. Stanley’s heroes come alive, all right — but not on the printed page! In an effort to revive his faltering company, Wunderman had ordered a set of magical pens guaranteed to bring to life any character drawn. When plans go awry and his staff of artists unwittingly create the dreaded super-villain Doctor Shock Clock, it is up to Stanley to save the day with his own superheroes — charismatic but egotistical Star Guy, speedy Triple Time, environmentally correct Blossom, and cranky little Wombat Woman! Stanley’s heroes battle Shock Clock and his henchmen, the Minutos, only to be saved in the end by the greatest superhero of them all — Eraser Man (aka Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz)!

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.”
8th-12th grade
Auditions are 3/18 from 12-2:30p. Rehearsals will take place Tuesdays and Fridays 6-8:30p and Saturdays 12-2:30p. Tech week, which is mandatory, May 8-11 from 5-9p. Performances 5/12 at 7p and 5/13 at 2p and 7p.

Camp Rock
Disney's Camp Rock The Musical, a combination of The Disney Channel's "Camp Rock" and "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" (starring teen idols, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers) will fire up your stage with over a dozen songs, including "This Is Me," "Can't Back Down," "It's On" and "We Rock."
A classic story of rivalry and power, Disney's Camp Rock The Musical opens with Mitchie and her friends arriving at Camp Rock, ready to spend another summer jamming out and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock's very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown!
Disney's Camp Rock The Musical features a large ensemble cast with many featured roles. Whether your students are singers, actors, dancers or triple threats, everyone has an opportunity to shine in this high-energy show!

Peter Pan One Acts
Peter Pan, non-flying verion - In the world of Neverland, Peter Pan is king until he meets his match...a female Captain Hook. Experience a theatrical and inventive Peter Pan like you never have before! Master director and acclaimed playwright Jon Jory has also reimagined the classic tale with a crew of female pirates.
What Happens in Neverland Stays in Neverland - You thought you knew Neverland until you read this collection of monologues featuring all of your favorite Neverland characters. Tinkerbell explains her unrequited love for Peter, Captain Hook wants you to know the real him, and Peter Pan gives a commencement speech worthy of a TED Talk. “In Neverland, fun is a little gory.”
12 Angry Villains - The one that debates Peter Pan's alleged murder of an innocent pirate named Captain Hook. A jury of twelve of the most famous villains will decide Pan's fate, if only they could stop arguing long enough to take a vote.
6th-12th grade
Auditions are 5/17 from 7-9p. Rehearsals will take place Wednesdays and Fridays 6-8p and Saturdays 3-5p. Tech week, which is mandatory, June 5-8 from 5-9p. Performances 6/9 at 7p and 6/10 at 2p and 7p.

MT Ed's Summer 2023 Camp Line-up!
Summers at MT Ed are unlike any other camp in Rochester! Campers will spend their camp day rehearsing one of the shows below. The production at the end of the camp is complete with a full set, costumes, and makeup! Each camp day, staff (who are all trained educators) will engage your child in theatre games, vocal, acting and dance rehearsals. Our camp day is longer than other camps (9am-4pm) to accommodate a longer lunch time in which we will walk to Ontario Beach State Park most days to play on the beach or playground or just unwind. Once a week, campers will have the option to visit Abbott's and once a week we will visit an area restaurant for lunch. Our camps are capped at 30 participants to ensure a quality experience for all campers. Wrap around care from 8am-6pm is available at no additional charge. Campers who stay for aftercare will often have the opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of theatre that go into the show they are currently rehearsing.
The more you camp the more you save! 1 camp - $375; 2 camps - $700; 3 camps - $975. Siblings save an additional 10%!

The Frog Prince

Our tiniest students join us for a mini camp June 26-30. Camp day is 9a-12p. On Friday at noon, families and friends join us for a mini production of The Frog Prince, as written by our Tiny Talents! Tiny Talents camp focuses on literacy and literature, stage presence, and basic theatre skills such as stage direction, line memorization, characterization, singing and dancing. This camp is perfect for the first time performer and those not quite ready for our full day camp.
Please note, Tiny Talents must be potty trained to participate.

Peter Rabbit

A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS
MT Ed KIDS Grades 2-4
Adapted from the three-time-Tony-nominated Broadway hit comes A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS. Based on Arnold Lobel's well-loved books, the jazzy, upbeat score bubbles with melody. Part vaudeville, part make-believe, and all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS tells the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons.
This whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog, and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. Throughout the year, two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special.
A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS is a great first choice for young performers, with plenty of fun roles, accessible music and fun sets and costumes.

Disney's Winnie the Pooh KIDS
MT Ed KIDS Grades 2-4
Disney's Winnie the Pooh KIDS is a delightful show based on the beloved characters of A.A. Milne and the 2011 Disney animated feature film. Featuring favorite songs from the film, as well as new hits by the Academy Award-winning Robert and Kristen Lopez (Frozen), this honey-filled delight is as sweet as it is fun.
Welcome to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl, but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson! As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course... sharing snacks.
Filled with all of their favorite characters, Disney's Winnie the Pooh KIDS is a favorite for children to perform.
Camp runs Monday - Friday, July 24-August 4, 9a-4p, performances on August 4 at 6pm and August 5 at 3pm and 6pm. Cast party will be held between Saturday shows.
Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Jr.
MT Ed Youth Grades 5-7
Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Madagascar, Jr.
MT Ed Youth Grades 5-7
Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.
Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends — Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo — have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape — with the help of some prodigious penguins — to explore the world.
Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore and an upbeat score, Madagascar JR. will leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!”

The Big Bad Musical
MT Ed Youth Grades 5-7
A courtroom has never been more lively and fun than in The Big Bad Musical! This smart and wickedly funny musical is great for actors and audiences of any age. The jury — your audience — must decide the outcome of the biggest trial ever in the fairy-tale world! The notorious Big Bad Wolf is being slapped with a class-action lawsuit by storybooks of quirky characters who want to get even: Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmother, the Three Little Pigs, and the Shepherd in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. With Sydney Grimm as the commentator on live Court TV, the two greatest legal minds in the Enchanted Forest — the Evil Stepmother and the Fairy Godmother — clash in a trial that will be remembered forever after. As our wronged fairy tale characters testify, the wolf seems deserving of all that’s coming. Yet, even though the infamous Evil Stepmother resents doing pro-bono work on such an obviously futile defense, Mr. Wolf makes a good case for himself. Was he born a criminal, or made one? This musical has it all — audience participation, minimal set and costume requirements, a good balance of stage time for each character, multiple endings to make every performance unique, and Bill Francoeur’s toe-tapping tunes!

Freaky Friday

When an uber-organized mother and her spontaneous teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right. Masquerading as each other, they must work together to solve the mystery of how to break the spell. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another in a way they never could have imagined. In the end, both learn the true power of love and the strength of the bond between a mother and daughter in this heartfelt and hilarious adaptation.
Based on the beloved 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, Freaky Friday features a book by Bridget Carpenter - the co-executive producer and writer on the beloved TV hits, "Friday Night Lights" and "Parenthood" - and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey - the Pulitzer Prize-winning composers of Next to Normal.

Mean Girls, Jr.
MT Ed Teens Grades 8-12
The Plastics have deemed Broadway Junior worthy of their presence in Mean Girls JR! This "fetch" musical from book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) is packed with keen wit, an undeniably catchy score, and a sincere message for everyone.
Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign with Cady going undercover as an aspiring Plastic. When the lines between the real Cady and her Plastic self get blurred, she must find her way back to herself and her true friends.
