Marilyn's Learning Farm and Gardens

*The event has already taken place on this date: Mon, 08/17/2020
At our farm, youth learn about farm animals, food and agricultural science, and sustainable food production through opportunities to CULTIVATE a passion for agriculture. Taught by a NYS certified science teacher, our STEM-focused camp has kids learning through FUN activities! Make dryer balls from sheep wool, cuddle a goat, cinch a horse, milk a cow, candle chicken eggs and plant/harvest fruits and vegetables!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Meet our animals and learn how to care for them. We have horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, dogs and cats!  Taste garden plants, gather eggs and prepare foods from our harvest. Plant pumpkins and come back in the fall and take one home!  Investigate the agricultural science involved in running a farm and become a steward of the land and the animals.

Our mission is to involve kids in agriculture, giving them the opportunity for hands on experience with all the different components that make up a working farm. Our focus is on learning based on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) principles, and our activities are aligned with NYS Common Core, taught by a NYS-certified science teacher. Proper care and handling of all of the animals is emphasized at all times.  Campers will become stewards of the farmland and farm animals during their time at camp.

Camps are designed for youth entering 3rd through 9th grade. We have a max of 10 campers per session to ensure lots of time for each camper with the animals. Week-long camps are either half-day (9am-12pm) or full day (9am - 3pm).

So COME OUTSIDE, get dirty, and let us help you CULTIVATE a passion for agriculture!
