International Archaeology Day at the RMSC

The RMSC Museum and the Archaeological Institute of America’s Rochester NY Society will present a family-friendly introduction to archaeology in honor of International Archaeology Day.

The RMSC Museum and the Archaeological Institute of America’s Rochester NY Society will present a family-friendly introduction to archaeology in honor of International Archaeology Day. When you join us for this exciting, socially-distant day of learning, visitors can:
- Enjoy flintknapping demonstrations by Dr. Alex Smith from the Archaeological Institute of America, Rochester Chapter
- View stratigraphy demonstrations
- Participate in socially distanced, hands-on activities including a portable dig box and arts and crafts*
Also consider joining us again at Cumming Nature Center on October 18, 2020 for Archaeology Day to participate in an actual (socially distanced) dig!
*All hands-on activities are regularly sanitized to help ensure our guests health and safety.
Cost of event is included in Museum admission.
