This evening’s works are linked by their shared sources of inspiration, and form a musical network that spans eras and genres. Jörg Widmann’s “Hunting Quartet” acts as a linchpin, quoting Schumann’s programmatic work Papillons, and offering a twenty-first century take on Mozart’s String Quartet No. 17 (“The Hunt”). W.A.
