Free Sled Hockey Clinics
Check out Sled Hockey! Come to one or all of the FREE scheduled Clinics and discover this amazing ice sport! An inclusive game, sled hockey, also know as sledge, can be played by many people, ages 5+, with or without a variety of disabilities, children or adults, family and friends, veterans…anyone who wants to try out hockey on a sled!
All players play from a sled which has blades underneath, using ice picks on one end of the shortened stick to skate (pull) across the ice. Volunteers are available to push a sledder if needed, for those who cannot use the picks to propel, but can use them to catch and pass the puck. A player must be able to transfer in and off the sled by themselves or with the assistance of provided volunteers or a companion that you bring. The ability to follow the rules and flow of the game allows for a safe and fun experience. Rules can be adapted for recreational play. Players who wish to pursue competitive play can discuss opportunities with the players and coach from the Rochester Sled Hockey team.
