Join with Dr. Lisa Amati (who found her first fossil trilobite at the age of 4) for an hour of fun with trilobites and other fossil animals. New York State looked very different millions of years in the past. In fact, there were times when most of the state was covered with sea water. Many of the rocks exposed in New York State are full of fossilized creatures that lived in these oceans. Learn how to recognize and identify some of these ancient remains at this event by handling real fossils and answering some questions about them. Kids will work in groups of 3-4, and each group needs a “reader”. The program is appropriate for children age 5 and over. Seating is limited to 60 participants. Tickets are free, but you MUST reserve yours in advance. Write to paleo@frontier.com immediately to reserve spaces for your family members. There will be no tickets at the door.
