On October 21 the Museum will offer a special Wednesday field trip program from 10am-2pm to take place at our Nature Center and John L. Wehle Gallery.
Nature's Chain--The Genesee country has seen many changes over thousands of years of settlement. Native animal populations were replaced by new species. Canal and town building in the 19th century altered the contours of the landscape. Today, the land is shifting again due to invasive species of both plants and animals, the climate, and from human use. Come hike the Nature Center trails and find fun activities along each path. Play the Bird Migration game, attend an outdoor animal show and naturalist talk, read a story along one trail that leads to a secret pool, or just enjoy the fall foilage. Don't forget to visit our John L. Wehle Gallery to explore the exhibition “Nature’s Chain: The Land and Our Place in it” while learning about native animals and their habitats, the settlement of the Genesee Country and contemporary challenges to our environment. Try your hand at the interactive “Invasive Species” game.
