Curiosity Campout @ the Strasenburgh Planetarium: Sky Sights
Saturday, January 8, 2022 | 9 - 11:30 AM
Saturday, February 5, 2022 | 9 - 11:30 AM
It may not be summer, but that doesn’t mean camp is over! Join us for the first Curiosity Campout @ the Strasenburgh Planetarium. This pre-registered family program is built for campers and caregivers to explore together.
Get ready for a morning of hands-on science fun inspired by Sky Sights - meteor showers, the moon and its phases, and more! This event includes admission to the Planetarium Show, I See the Sky, at 10 AM as well as related activities that’ll help you and your budding astronaut launch deeper into outer space exploration. Take over Mission Control and oversee our rocket zipline. Pitch a tent under the stars and learn about constellations and culture. Then test your space skills with a galactic challenge - or two!
On January 8, you'll work together to take over Mission Control and oversee our rocket zipline.
On February 5, you'll let your creative side free as you make art inspired by auroras and curate your very own Moon Museum.
I See the Sky and accompanying activities have been designed with our youngest campers in mind (i.e. Mini Campers aged 2-5), but all are welcome! We’ll provide instructions for how to make the morning’s projects more complex, and materials will be open-ended enough to provide endless possibilities.
Cost: $25 per person
