In their original vocal form, hymns join a congregation together in song; here, composers transcribe and expand these beloved melodies. GMF resident artists traverse Christian musical practices from Latin plainsong to Lutheran chorales in works by Bach, Haydn, Elgar and Kodaly. Haydn - String Quartet in G Major, Op. 76/1 Bach - Ich Ruf' Zu Dir, Herr Jesu Christ Kodaly - Three Choral Preludes for Cello and Piano Elgar - Piano Quintet in A Minor, Op. 84 All programs subject to change.
