Comedy Improv: Spotlight on Two-person Scenes

*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 02/08/2022
A number of factors can make an improv scene great: saying “yes, and,” exploring emotions, and listening and reacting to your scene partner honestly. In this class, you’ll explore those techniques in one of improv’s purest forms – the two-person scene. A player’s job in a scene is to make his or her partner look good, and the most interesting scenes are often about the relationship between the pair. You’ll do warm-up exercises, play theatre games, and perform two-person scenes that explore the connections that exist between characters, building your trust in your teammate and your own confidence along the way. Bring your improv partner or a friend; meet a new teammate; or in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, bring your date to this duo-themed workshop. Not only is improv fun, but it is also a tool for life: it can make you a better listener, public speaker, and creative thinker.
