Canandaigua Community Sailing Weekly Camp

CCS sailing camps are held at Canandaigua Yacht Club and are open to kids between the ages of 7 and 18. No membership is required. The focus of the camps is on fun and helping kids to experience the joy of sailing. Participants will learn boat rigging, steering, sail trim, reading the wind, docking, and other skills necessary to be competent, self-sufficient sailors. More advanced sailors will concentrate on topics such as racing. Sailing is done in Sunfish, 420, Optimist, and Vanguard 15 sailboats, either with a partner or solo. We also have a Flying Scot that we use for larger group sails. Camp is held Monday - Friday, from 9:00 - 4:00, with early drop-off and late pick-up options available. Weekly sessions run from June 27 - August 19. A 3 half-day family class will be held during 4th of July week. See our web site for more details.
