Camp Tiger 2020

*The event has already taken place on this date: Wed, 07/01/2020
Camp Tiger is a summer day-camp based on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math). Hosted at RIT, Camp Tiger caters to enthusiastic learners in 5th - 12th grade. Offering custom tailored instruction, we are proud to be the largest and oldest summer camp on RIT's campus!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Hello RIT K12/Camp Tiger community,

As we all navigate through circumstances that none of us could have imagined, we hope that you are feeling healthy and safe.

We wanted to reach out and provide you with updates about opportunities coming out of our office – especially those related to our summer STEAM day camp, RIT’s Camp Tiger (formerly Kids on Campus). Many of you have likely noticed that we have yet to post our offerings and open registration for Camp Tiger 2020. Although we were ready to post a full list of summer opportunities, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, we decided it best to take a “wait and see” approach.

A Difficult Decision
Our main priority is always the safety of our campers and staff. We follow guidance from RIT policy makers, Monroe County, the CDC, and the American Camp Association. With the definitive date of our return to campus unknown and with the significant planning and staff that must be available to make camp happen, we have made the difficult decision to not host Camp Tiger in-person at RIT this summer. This is difficult news to share – as Camp Tiger is the oldest and largest of RIT’s summer camps. We love being able to share the camp experience with your children every summer.

New Opportunities
While Camp Tiger will not be offered on campus this summer, we are working diligently to transition to an online platform. Our goal is to provide K-12 youth with a variety of meaningful opportunities to learn something new and engage with RIT over the summer. We will surely incorporate some of the high-impact elements of our traditional day camp, while taking this unexpected opportunity to try new things. We are hopeful that the outcome will contribute to your child’s summer to remember.

We will send out updates on Camp Tiger and information on summer opportunities for K-12 students at RIT as they become available. Please feel free to contact us with your questions, concerns, and comments. We welcome your ideas for virtual summer programming.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we figure out our Plan B. By encouraging one another and supporting each other, we will meet this challenge. Thank you for being part of our Camp Tiger family.

Sincerely,
The RIT Camp Tiger Team
